As the Society of Financial and Career Consulting Professionals Conference comes closer, we are proud to introduce some of our upcoming speakers. We’re starting with Chris Rodiguez of the National Disability Institute.
From the National Disability Institute website:
Chris Rodriguez is the Director of Public Policy for National Disability Institute (NDI). Chris has extensive experience working on behalf of individuals with disabilities both on the state and national levels. Prior to joining NDI, he worked for Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. as director of governmental affairs and media relations. He has also worked for UCP National, the National Association of Councils for Developmental Disabilities, and The Arc of Texas. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of Texas, concentrating on Social and Economic Policy as well as Disability Studies. His drive to assist individuals with disabilities is a result of his personal experience with disability: Chris is the younger brother to an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Chris will be presenting information on ABLE accounts for disabled people. ABLE accounts help those with disabilities build savings accounts without losing their disability benefits. ABLE accounts encourage financial independence and provide opportunities for disabled people to lift themselves out of poverty.
We are excited to welcome Chris to the roster of speakers for the upcoming conference, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in June!
